Sadly Aztec GP can confirm that Edward Rendell has been kept in hospital after being airlifted from Cadwell Park with a broken left leg. The Chelmsford Charger showed the paddock that he and the Aztec GP machine were in strong contention for their first podium finish. The unfortunate incident occurred as Ed was battling for third place on lap 4. As the pace intensified the group of riders including Ed, exited Barn onto the Start/Finish straight. With the Aztec GP machine poised to pass the number 66 KRP bike of Tom Haywood, Ed momentarily ran wide onto the grass. With no grip, the machine slid on the grass and then rejoined the track catapulting Ed into the air. He finally stopped right on the racing line almost adjacent to the pit entrance. We would like to acknowledge the racecraft of the following riders: Tim Hastings, Deane Brown, Robbie Stewart, Connor Behan, James Lodge, Jay Lewis and Philip Wakefield whose evasive action prevented a more serious incident. The team would like to extend their thanks to all of the medical team, marshalls and organisers for their prompt and professional assistance. Finally we wish Edward a speedy recovery and best wishes to Helen and Ray. Thanks to all in the paddock for your get well soon messages.
